ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Police say nine bullets were fired from an officer’s gun during a confrontation with an armed man outside a downtown Orlando nightclub, including a bullet that accidentally killed a female bystander inside the bar.
A police report released Wednesday says Officer Eduardo Sanguino fired nine times at Kody Roach after Roach ignored police instructions to get on the ground, a Taser failed to incapacitate Roach and Roach appeared to be reaching for his waistband.
Roach survived the shooting and was charged Wednesday with carrying a concealed weapon.
A 22-year-old bystander inside the bar was killed after she was struck by a stray bullet.
Roach was thrown out of the bar after security noticed he had a concealed gun.
The report says the gun was unloaded.
