Actress Meghan Markle actively tried to avoid then-reality television star Donald Trump during joint TV appearances in 2006 and 2007, according to a new biography released to coincide with Markle’s highly anticipated wedding to Prince Harry.

“One guest caused quite the frisson: Donald Trump, then making a guest appearance to cross-promote ‘The Apprentice,'” famed British royal correspondent Andrew Morton wrote in “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” referring to Markle’s stint as a “briefcase girl” on the NBC game show, “Deal or No Deal.”
