Rendell pushes Michelle Obama 2020 chatter

A top Democrat on Friday urged first lady Michelle Obama to run for the White House in 2020.

In a tweet, former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said that while he will miss the 44th president once he leaves office in two weeks, he will miss Michelle Obama just as much, if not more, and added “Michelle in 2020!” The tweet came after the first lady’s farewell address, which she delivered Friday morning.

“We’ll miss POTUS who did great but WOW we’ll really miss Michelle! What a farewell speech — so moving and poignant,” Rendell wrote. “‘Michelle in 2020!'”

The first lady has said she does not intend to run for president, let alone enter elected politics after her husband leaves office on Jan. 20.

In January 2016, President Obama also chimed on in the possibility when an audience member at an event in Baton Rouge, La. asked him about the possibly.

“No, no,” Obama said. “No, no, no … no, no.”

The Obamas will be moving into a home in Washington D.C., for at least the next two years to allow their youngest daughter, Sasha, to finish school.
