What: Provided $2 billion to HUD-contracted landlords to ensure they received a full year of rent subsidy payments, including one property owner who has a bad record including failed HUD property inspections and a failure to file audited financial statements on time.
Why it’s an outrage: Tax dollars going to slumlords doesn’t sound like economic recovery or reinvestment at all.
