Obama heads to NYC to fundraise, talk with Fallon

President Obama heads to New York City on Wednesday to headline two Democratic Party fundraisers, and to tape an appearance on “The Tonight Show.”

It will the first time Obama has appeared on the program since host Jimmy Fallon took the reins. It will be his seventh overall visit to the venerable show and his fifth as president.

Obama, who is the reining presidential late-night talk show king with the most appearances of any commander in chief, has sat down with the “Saturday Night Live” veteran before. He stopped by Fallon’s last set, NBC’s “Late Night.”

Obama ostensibly is heading to the Big Apple to raise money for the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. It will be Obama’s 10th DSCC event of the 2016 campaign cycle, according to the DSCC.
