LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — In a story April 18 about the discovery of a handgun in a passenger’s carry-on luggage at Lynchburg Regional Airport, The Associated Press reported erroneously that TSA officers arrested the traveler. He was arrested by Lynchburg police.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Authorities say a man was arrested by Lynchburg police after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on baggage at Lynchburg Regional Airport.
The Transportation Security Administration says the .38-caliber handgun with five rounds was found Thursday as the bag passed through an X-ray machine. The TSA says Lynchburg police officers confiscated the handgun and arrested the traveler on a weapons charge.
The man’s name was not available Friday from the Lynchburg Police Department. He was from Bedford, Ind., and was traveling to Indianapolis.
