Former President Barack Obama praised the people of Manchester on Thursday for their “faith, love and resolve” following Monday night’s terror attack that left 22 people dead.
“Through faith, love and resolve, the character of the people of Manchester has shown itself,” the former president said on his Twitter account. “Our thoughts and prayers are with you.”

Obama appeared in a video with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, to share messages to the people of Manchester, England, following Monday’s terror attack.
“It’s unimaginable to think about the cruelty and violence that the city of Manchester has suffered. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you,” Obama said. “There are families all over the world who are grieving with you.”
“Know that the entire world is in solidarity with you right now,” he continued.
Obama and Merkel were in Berlin attending an event marking the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
On Monday night, bomber Salman Abedi killed 22 people and injured dozens more at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena.
Police arrested Abedi’s father and brother on Tuesday, and officers investigating the attack arrested at least six people total in connection with the bombing.
