Bill Maher says abortion may be Democrats’ saving grace because ‘kids are brats’

Bill Maher, who this spring predicted that Democrats would lose big in the midterm elections, now says abortion “is going to be the turning point for this midterm election” and that the party may be able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

In a recent interview, Maher said “things have really turned around” since his last prediction.

“I think what we’re finding out is: Kids are brats, and no one wants them,” he told the Hill.

“The Republicans are the dog that caught the car with abortion,” he explained.

He further claimed that Republicans have been attempting to ban the procedure for half a century and added that they backtrack when asked about the issue.

“We already know that there’s so many new voters who have registered because of that very reason,” Maher continued. “And not just women. There’s lots of men also who don’t want kids.”

Maher further revealed that he wouldn’t be donating to political campaigns ahead of the midterm elections, doubting that money makes much of a difference at all.

“If I thought money made a difference,” he said. “I mean, last time [Trump] ran, he spent way less than [Hillary Clinton], and look how that turned out.”

He even suggested that pouring money into campaigns can actually hurt candidates. “When they carpet-bomb with campaign ads that people have seen 100 times, people wind up hating the person making the ad,” Maher explained.

In April, Maher predicted that Democrats would “get their asses kicked” in the midterm elections while discussing a rising LGBT trend on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher.

“If we can’t admit that in certain enclaves, there is some level of trendiness to the idea of being anything other than straight, then this is not a serious, science-based discussion. It’s a blow being struck in the culture wars, using children as cannon fodder,” he said of the rise in procedures and treatments to transition children.
