Singer and songwriter Pharrell Williams told attendees at a rally in Raleigh, N.C., on Thursday that he would rather have Hillary Clinton in control of America’s nuclear weapons than Donald Trump because she understands how to bring “life into this world.”
“For once, when it comes to the nuke buttons, I’d like to see it controlled by a woman who knows what it’s like to physically bring life into this world and who will think about the world holistically before she decides to take millions of ’em out,” Williams told the crowd on Thursday evening.
The NBC “The Voice” star said Clinton promised him earlier in the day to fix injustices that have hurt blacks.
“This country hasn’t always been fair to all people — especially my people,” Williams said. “I know they sometimes call us minority, but you see our influence everywhere. We are not minority, we are majority. We are black — beautiful, so if you’ve ever been called a minority in your life, if you’ve ever been called the minority, go out and vote and show everybody that you are actually the majority.”
