Warm today, but cooler for the rest of the week

Enjoy the summery heat today — the rest of the week will be cooler.

The National Weather Service is predicting a high temperature today in the Washington area of about 85 degrees. It’s also expected to be sunny.

After today, the forecasters said it won’t be so warm. Wednesday is expected to be the coolest day this week, with a high of about 67 in the District. The Weather Service is predicting high temperatures in the upper 60s to mid 70s for the other days this week.

The normal high temperature for today’s date at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is 67 degrees, according to climate data. The record high for today’s date is 92 degrees.

But next week will likely start well below the norm. The Weather Service is forecasting a high temperature Sunday of about 58 degrees.
