Baltimore-based Under Armour has signed a multiyear deal with basketball star Brandon Jennings, reinforcing the company’s growing commitment to basketball.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jennings, the 2008 High School Basketball Player of the Year, recently signed with an Italian professional basketball team and will be eligible to play in the NBA in 2009. He’s the first player to pursue an international career before playing in the NBA.
The performance apparel company this year debuted its first cross-training shoes and has said it plans to eventually release running and basketball shoes.
In October, Under Armour will debut a Brandon Jennings blog on www.underarmour.com. The blog will allow fans the opportunity to follow Jennings in Rome and his pursuit of his athletic goals.
