Trump: Biden’s been ‘absolutely fine’ as VP

Donald Trump offered a few words of praise Wednesday for Vice President Joe Biden, saying that he has been an “absolutely fine” vice president over the past eight years, citing his relationship with President Obama as a reason.

“I think he’s been just fine. I think he’s been fine because he gets along with the president,” Trump told Bloomberg Politics’ Mark Halperin, who was taping an interview for Showtime’s “The Circus” after his Wednesday event at his new hotel in Washington.

“He seems to have a very good relationship, so I think Biden has been absolutely fine and his relationship with President Obama has been good and that’s a big factor,” Trump said.

Trump was initially asked about Biden’s comment from last Friday, where he said that he wishes he could take Trump “behind the gym” over his lewd remarks caught on a hot microphone in 2005, in which he discusses his treatment of women thanks to his celebrity status.

“He made some comment, he’d like to take me behind the gym. I would be the wrong guy for him to take behind the gym, believe me, that would be easy,” Trump said. “If I ever made that comment, they’d say, ‘Oh, he’s a bully, he’s a bully.'”

“He makes the comment, everyone thinks it’s so cute,” Trump said. “If I made it, they’d say, ‘Oh, what a terrible thing.'”
