A Metro station manager took the role of passing along information to riders a bit in the wrong direction Sunday morning.
The manager on duty at the Stadium-Armory stop of the Blue and Orange lines gave a small sermon over the public address system around 7: 40 a.m. on Easter, telling riders that the savior had risen, according to a rider.
“The station manager was identified and has acknowledged making a non-standard announcement,” Metro spokesman Philip Stewart told The Washington Examiner.
The transit agency says announcements that do not pertain to Metro are not permitted, whether they are related to religion or the Redskins. Ironically, riders have often griped that they don’t get enough of the information they need from station managers.
“We will be taking appropriate follow-up action to ensure that appropriate procedures are followed in the future,” Stewart said.
