SAN ANTONIO (AP) — San Antonio officials say faulty electrical equipment caused a weekend power outage at the city’s landmark Tower of the Americas.
A city spokesman tells KSAT-TV (http://bit.ly/YssyWK ) on Monday that a failed electrical conductor at the city-owned tower caused its main power line to malfunction. He says it’s the first time that such an issue has caused an outage at the site.
The iconic 750-foot tower in San Antonio’s HemisFair Park was blacked out Friday through Sunday.
The tower opened for the 1968 World’s Fair.
