Trump: FBI rank and file ‘disgusted’ by leaders

President Trump said Tuesday that FBI employees are on his side, and are “disgusted” by what they’ve learned about how the agency’s leaders worked against him.

“The rank and file of the FBI are great people who are disgusted with what they are learning about Lyin’ James Comey and the so-called ‘leaders’ of the FBI,” Trump tweeted Tuesday morning. “Twelve have been fired or forced to leave. They got caught spying on my campaign and then called it an investigation. Bad!”

The New York Times reported last week that the FBI investigated whether Trump was working for Russia after he fired former FBI Director James Comey.

When asked on Saturday whether that report is true, Trump said that was as “the most insulting thing I’ve ever been asked.

But Democrats indicated they want to look more closely at the accusation. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., asked why Trump is “so chummy” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
