Meghan McCain praises Tulsi Gabbard: ‘You did well in the debate’

Meghan McCain praised 2020 Democratic hopeful Tulsi Gabbard’s debate performance, saying the Hawaii congresswoman was “the most composed and authentic.”

Gabbard’s sister Vrindavan tweeted on the candidate’s behalf throughout the event, sharing a screenshot of McCain’s deleted tweet.

“Tulsi and I literally couldn’t disagree on more (and she fundraised off of my name for calling her out on her relationship with Assad) BUT so far she’s coming across the most composed and authentic,” the tweet said.

Vrindavan said McCain “displayed a moment of courage” to praise her sister.

“Didn’t mean to delete,” McCain responded. “We disagree on everything but you did well in the debate.”

After the exchange McCain reposted the original tweet.

Gabbard referred to her military experience and criticized President Trump’s “chickenhawk” Cabinet for leading the U.S. “to the brink of war with Iran.” She also clashed with Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan after he falsely claimed the Taliban was behind the 9/11 terror attacks.
