Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign unveiled its first Spanish-language ad of the general election one day after the Supreme Court blocked President Obama’s executive actions on immigration.
The ad shows Trump talking about a “deportation force” on MSNBC juxtaposed with Hispanic men and women talking about their lives in America.
“These individuals are a reflection of the America Clinton is fighting for: one which builds bridges, not walls; one which embraces immigrants, not denigrates them; one which is stronger together,” the Clinton campaign said in a statement. “In light of the Supreme Court’s decision, the ad is a stark reminder that Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric and bigoted policies will harm the Latino community.”
Clinton herself only says one Spanish word in the entire ad. In the closing seconds, she says, “Soy Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.”
The 60-second spot will air on national television this Sunday during Copa America’s final match, which is an international soccer tournament.
