CHARLOTTESVILLE – George Huguely V will not appear in court Jan. 21 as scheduled, after his lawyers argued in court on Monday that there is still a significant amount of evidence under review.

Charlottesville District Court Judge Robert H. Downer Jr. granted a continuance on the case without setting a new date for Huguely’s preliminary hearing in the slaying of his former girlfriend, University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love. Huguely did not attend the five-minute hearing on Monday and waived his right to appear by video feed.
