Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.Y., said “of course” he will consider a run for the White House.
“Of course the presidency will be something I consider,” Booker told New York magazine in an interview published Wednesday. “It would be irresponsible not to.”
Speculation of Booker running is circulating, and Democrats believe he would be a strong contender.
The report noted that Booker has been aware of accusations of him being inauthentic — something which he feels he’s been dealing with his entire political career.

“[Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand] said to me, ‘If you want to talk about love and kindness and decency, talk about those things, because it’s where you are.’ I feel like if I start poll-testing or shaping myself, where we start operating out of fear, I think that’s going to dim my light and my impact,” Booker said.
Gillibrand, D-N.Y., is also likely to make a bid for president.
Booker made former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s short list for people she was considered as her running mate in the 2016 election.
