LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Four Arkansas colleges will receive more than $1 million combined in federal funds to encourage the study of math and science.
Members of Arkansas’ congressional delegation made the announcement Wednesday. The four schools will receive Upward Bound math and science grants to pay for tutoring, prep courses for college-entrance exams and other programs to strengthen students’ math and science skills.

Arkansas Tech University and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville will each receive $250,000, while Lyon College will receive $293,925. UA-Fort Smith will receive $260,400.
