The ink is barely dry on Madonna’s and Alex Rodriguez’s respective divorce papers. And the power players haven’t confirmed the rampant rumors they’re a couple. But they may already be ready to move in together. A source tells the New York Post the duo have been “discreetly looking at properties” on an ultra-tony stretch of NYC’s Upper East Side.
“Madonna personally came to look at one house a couple of months ago, and Alex has been looking recently,” dishes the spy. “We’re talking about private, double-width mansions in the vicinity of $30 million to $60 million.”
The insider adds that Madge and A-Rod would ideally like a pad “with a garage that you can drive into for additional privacy — although those are rare and hard to come by.” Another source told the paper that the couple are also checking out places in the Hamptons.
The pop icon’s rep didn’t respond to requests for comment, while the Yankees star’s issued a straight-up denial. Stay tuned …
Ivana divorce
Denials only work for so long. After repeatedly insisting that her seven-month-long marriage to fourth husband Rossano Rubicondi was just fabulous, Ivana Trump revealed in a statement that she actually filed for separation three months ago. Ivana, how can we ever trust you again?
The socialite, 59, explains that she kept mum on the split because she didn’t want to affect the outcome of her 36-year-old hubby’s stint on Italy’s “Survivor.” Gotta have priorities.
But despite the age difference, Ivana says it wasn’t time but space that came between them.
“Rossano wants to live in Miami and work in Milan,” she explains. “I like both cities, Miami for weekends, and Milan to see friends and go shopping. But I am a New Yorker, and my family, friends and businesses are here. As the beautiful song says, ‘Que sera sera!’”
Never mind the fact that the day before the separation announcement, Rossano was photographed cozying up to some (age-appropriate) cuties in his native Italy.
Who is it Ivana reminds us of? Let’s see … wealthy, self-confident, marries younger hotties and dumps them just as quickly … Oh, right: The Donald.
LiLo: Happy together
The rumor mill has been abuzz with talk that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are on the rocks. During a recent European jaunt, British papers reported that they had even come to blows, when Sam flew into a jealous rage over LiLo dancing with ex-beau Calum Best. But the actress wants the world to know — via MySpace, natch — that her relationship with the DJ is solid.
“Oy vey! Rumors,” Lindsay blogs. “Just to clear this up, because I have been getting a lot of e-mails asking me this one question. Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan (me) are NOT breaking up.”
To emphasize the point, she lists the Turtles’ “Happy Together” as her current music. Because as we all know, one’s MySpace status is a window to the soul.
Wait just a second here: Lindsay won’t explicitly confirm she and Sam are a couple, but she will deny that they’re splitting up? What?
