Trump ‘monster’ created by the ‘obsessed’ media: White House Correspondents’ dinner comedian

The comedian at this year’s White House Correspondents Association dinner, Michelle Wolf, called out the media for being “obsessed” with President Trump and blamed them for creating “this monster.”

“You guys are obsessed with Trump. Did you used to date him? Because you pretend like you hate him, but I think you love him,” Wolf said at the end of her performance at Saturday’s event before an audience filled with members of the media.

She also quipped about how the media are benefiting from the Trump era.

“You helped create this monster, and now you’re profiting off of him,” she quipped. “And if you’re going to profit off of Trump, you should at least give him some money, because he doesn’t have any,” Wolf said.

Wolf addressed the crowd of journalists, celebrities, and members of government celebrating the First Amendment and journalism.

Trump was not in attendance. He chose instead to hold a rally in Michigan, marking the second year in a row he’s skipped “Nerd Prom.”
