Donald Trump should spend his final day of debate prep vigorously studying Hillary Clinton’s record to ensure he can make a good case against her on Monday night, House Speaker Paul Ryan said on Sunday.
“Look, Hillary Clinton’s been doing this most of her life. She is the consummate pro,” Ryan acknowledged during an appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

“This is new for Donald, so I think he should obviously overprepare for it,” said Ryan, who debated Vice President Joe Biden as Mitt Romney’s running mate during the 2012 presidential election.
“Obviously I prepared for these myself,” he said, while encouraging Trump to “offer the country a vision, go on offense, prosecute [his] case, and hold [Clinton] accountable.”
“But then show the country the direction you want to go and, and prepare, prepare, prepare,” Ryan repeated.
“And I hope he’s doing that,” the Wisconsin Republican said of Trump.
Trump’s campaign manager said earlier this week that the billionaire has no plans to wing his first debate performance, but that Trump is not cramming his head with “microchips and binders” like his Democratic opponent.
