Former President Donald Trump made a pit stop after his arraignment in Miami on Tuesday, stopping at a Cuban restaurant where the crowd sang him a happy birthday.
The former president, who faces 37 charges related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents, turns 77 on Wednesday.

“We have a country that’s corrupt, we have a country with no borders, we have a country that’s got nothing but problems with a nation in decline,” Trump told reporters at Versailles restaurant. “Then they do something like this, and you see where the people are; we love the people. We see the crowds. … We have a nation that is in decline like never before, and we can’t let it happen.”
During his stop, faith leaders prayed over Trump, with one being heard in a video praising the former president and declaring that “communism will not come to our shores.”

The former president also offered to buy food for restaurant patrons that had gathered to show their support for the 2024 GOP front-runner. The crowd was largely made up of Cuban Americans in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami.
Walt Nauta, a co-defendant in Trump’s documents case, was also at the restaurant.
Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges, which stem from the FBI raid at his Mar-a-Lago resort last year. Charges include alleged violations of the Espionage Act, according to special counsel Jack Smith‘s 49-page indictment after the case was considered by a Miami grand jury, making him the first former president to be charged with federal crimes.
