ABC’s The View host Ana Navarro said those who oppose gay people were suppressing something within themselves.
Her comments came during a discussion on the show about how young people should be taught sex education. “I expect the conversation you have with a kid in fourth grade is different than a conversation you have with a 13-year-old,” Navarro said on the Thursday show. “But we also have to admit that today’s day, and what kids are exposed to from a very early age, is very different than what some of us grew up with.”
“Look at porn online,” host Abby Huntsman said in agreement with Navarro. “Pornography is actually one of the highest in my state of Utah.” Huntsman blamed the lack of sex education for people seeking out pornography.
Host Joy Behar jumped into the conversation to mention a state senator who wanted to take discussions about homosexuality out of sex education. “Let me tell you something,” Navarro cut in. “Everybody that comes out against homosexuality’s got stuff going on.” The other hosts chuckled in agreement with her comment.
Navarro, 48, is a part-time host of the show and is known for making controversial statements. In July, the host suggested that Melania Trump, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz should all be deported.
