MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — The struggles and accomplishments of New Hampshire’s immigrant community are on display at the Currier Museum of Art.
An exhibition called New Threads: An American Quilt Story features artwork made of African fabrics and a quilt that tells a story of traveling from war-torn eastern Africa to a new life in Manchester.
The exhibition is the result of the museum’s two-year long outreach initiative with Rubia Inc.’s Sewing Confidence program, which provides women from new immigrant and refugee families with education and business resources.
