A Burger King employee who never missed a day of work after 27 years with the company was rewarded over $270,000 via crowdfunding.
Kevin Ford also received a movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, some candy (including chocolate), and a backpack for his dedication to the company over the years. In response, Ford recorded a TikTok to show his gratitude for the gift.
As his video grew in popularity, his daughter Seryna secretly made a GoFundMe page to give him a bigger gift to commemorate the anniversary. It has garnered $277,264 as of this report.

“He has worked at his job for 27 years and yes, he has never missed a day of work,” the campaign caption reads. “He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago. Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work there because of the amazing health insurance that was provided through this employer because it was unionized. This got all four of his daughters through high school and college with full healthcare coverage.”
“My dad continues to work there, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement,” the caption continues. “In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money but if anyone feels like blessing him he would love to visit his grandchildren.”
Ford has since become aware of the campaign. It even earned him $5,000 from actor David Spade and a personal message on Instagram. He doesn’t yet know how he will spend it.
“You never know. It’s day to day, but I haven’t thought of anything to do with that money except to visit my grandkids for a while and maybe put some up for their college, but I’m not even thinking about that,” Ford said. “I’m just working.”
