At least four people were killed after a small airplane crashed into a southern Mississippi home on Tuesday, local officials said.
The Hattiesburg Police Department responded to the crash at around 11:20 p.m. local time, the department said on social media.
“When emergency crews arrived on scene, it was confirmed that a civilian airplane had crashed into a home,” the department added.
The aircraft was a twin-engine Mitsubishi MU-2B-60, and three passengers were on board, the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

“The flight departed Wichita Falls Regional Airport in Wichita Falls, Texas,” the FAA added.
The fatal crash occurred along Edwards Street and Annie Christie Drive. Edwards Street is “back open to thru traffic,” the department said, adding that Annie Christie Drive is closed entirely from Evans Street to Collins Street.
Police have asked residents to report any debris found following the crash.
No other details about victims were immediately released.
The National Transportation Safety Board was also called to investigate the incident.
Hattiesburg, which has a population of about 45,000, is located about 90 miles southwest of Jackson.
