Mike Tyson’s ear-shaped marijuana gummies knocked out of Colorado

Former heavyweight champion boxer Mike Tyson‘s weed gummies shaped like Evander Holyfield’s ear have been banned from Colorado due to a state law banning edibles in the shape of humans.

The THC-infused gummies, named Mike Bites, are currently only sold by the celebrity’s cannabis brand, Tyson 2.0, in California and are expected to roll out in Nevada and Massachusetts later this year. A piece of the ear in the candy is missing — a homage to the 1997 championship boxing match during which Tyson famously bit off part of Holyfield’s ear.

In Colorado, Tyson’s edibles will be in the shape of a “T,” according to Denver-based outlet Westword, which reported that a 2016 state law forbids edibles in the shape of humans, animals, fruit, or other objects that could be enticing to children. Shannon Gray, communications director for the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division, said the ear-shaped edibles are “directly applicable” to the law, according to the report.

Other gummies from Tyson’s company are currently sold in Delaware, Illinois, Washington, D.C., California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Nevada, and they are expected to be available in additional states later this year.

“Cannabis has changed me for good both mentally and physically, and I want to share that gift with others who are also seeking relief,” Tyson said on his website.
