Nine women have filed a lawsuit claiming that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein sexually assaulted them when they were between the ages of 13 and 23.
The lawsuit, which was anonymously filed Tuesday in New York, claims the women were raped or assaulted by Epstein and his associates in events that occurred between 1985 and 2007, according to the New York Post.
“The lawsuit is filed on behalf of nine women who were sexually abused by Epstein over a course of two decades. We look forward to proceeding with discovery to determine who else was involved and achieving justice for these brave and courageous women,” Jordan Merson, the plaintiffs’ lawyer, said.
The lawsuit means the women join several dozen women who are already suing the Epstein estate. Epstein was found dead in his New York prison cell in August.
The financial mogul counted many wealthy and powerful people among his friends and associates, including former President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew, Duke of York. One of Epstein’s accusers, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, has accused Andrew of raping her when she was a minor.
