Sean Spicer: Complaints over Trump travel aren’t keeping him in DC

White House spokesman Sean Spicer on Wednesday rejected the idea that President Trump is under pressure not to travel to Florida each weekend after complaints about the cost of that travel, and a formal investigation into travel-related costs.

“No, he feels great,” Spicer said when asked if Trump stayed in Washington last weekend, and will stay in Washington this weekend, because of those complaints.

“The president wanted to be here last weekend, he wants to be here this weekend,” he said. “He’ll be here.”

Spicer replied to questions about Trump’s travel just a day after the Government Accountability Office said it would review the costs of security when Trump stays in his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago.

Democrats in the House and Senate asked the GAO to investigate those costs. GAO said it would look at security measures in his Florida home, and how travel charges are being accumulated and charged.
