Here’s what I’d like to hear from each of the Republican presidential candidates in tonight’s nationally televised debate:
Carly Fiorina. Dare Donald Trump to speak as critically of your looks on national TV, face to face, as he has behind your back.
Donald Trump. You claim to be “King of the Tax Code,” but what about the economy? Explain why Obamanomics has failed and why your economic plan will work, assuming you have one.
Jeb Bush. Make the case for sustained prosperity through tax reform and notify the nation Trump hasn’t got a clue.
John Kasich. Describe the moment when you realized God favors expanding Medicaid.
Mike Huckabee. As a Baptist preacher, clear up the matter of whether God is pro-Medicaid.
Chris Christie. You picked fights in the first debate with Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee and won both. Move up a weight class and pick a fight with a bigger opponent, the Trumpster – and on a bigger issue, immigration.
Scott Walker. Be as big and bold as your record as governor, not small and tame as in the first debate.
Marco Rubio. Explain to Republican voters why the GOP nominee needs at least 40 percent of the Hispanic vote to win the presidency, and how to achieve it.
Ted Cruz. Criticize Trump for a change.
Rand Paul. You’re a libertarian. Make the case for libertarianism.
Ben Carson. You’ve excelled by being wise and witty. It ain’t broke, so don’t try to fix it.
