Roseanne Barr running for president again is “never off the table,” according to the actress and comedian.
“I’m going to keep running until I win,” Barr told People in an article published Wednesday, referring to her unsuccessful bid for the White House in 2012 as California-based Peace and Freedom Party’s nominee.
In 2016, Barr voted for President Trump, and she’s now portraying a Trump supporter on screen in the reboot of her eponymous 1990s sitcom which premiered on ABC Tuesday to rave reviews.
She added that the country needed people “to converse more” to counteract the culture of hyperpartisan politics.
“Even voting isn’t enough. You have to be involved. I talk about this with my grandkids — you have to get in there and get your hands dirty if you want things to go the way you want them to go,” the mother of five and grandmother of six said.
“We’re lucky in this country that we can do that. We can really get our hands dirty and put our big collective shoulders to the wheel and change and fix things. I think that’s what’s exciting about our country right now,” she added.
