Republican Michigan Rep. Justin Amash is in danger of losing his seat in the House, according to a new poll.
Amash is facing a primary by Republican challenger Jim Lower, a member of the Michigan Legislature who announced he would run for Amash’s seat representing Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District.
An MIRS News Service poll listed Lower at 49% and Amash at 33%.

Amash is the first Republican member of the House to call for the impeachment of President Trump.
A tea-party libertarian and founder of the House Freedom Caucus, which he left this week, Amash has also flirted with a third-party presidential run.
Lower, who says he voted for Amash three times and worked on his congressional campaign in West Michigan, told local media he is “very disenchanted” by Amash’s anti-Trump rhetoric.
“You know at this point, Justin Amash has more in common with Rashida Tlaib than he does the average Republican primary voter in the district,” Lower said when he announced his candidacy. “So, we are going beat him on this issue, but we’re also beat him on the fact that in 10 years in Congress, he’s gotten one bill passed and it was to rename a post office. Completely ineffective.”
