An icon of incisive political reporting passed away Jan. 28. The New York Post’s Washington, D.C., Bureau Chief Deborah Orin-Eilbeck died at the far too-young age of 59.
She had a long and distinguished journalism career, spanning four decades in which she covered every presidential election since 1980. It was not well-known that she was ill and her death caught many colleagues and readers by surprise.
