House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said he had a “good conversation” with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., Tuesday morning when he visited him in the hospital, just days after he was shot in the hip at a Republican baseball practice Wednesday morning.
Hoyer said Scalise was “tired” after going through a number of surgeries and procedures. He also said that the two discussed how his staff could offer aid during his absence.
Scalise’s condition was upgraded from “critical” to “serious” condition over the weekend days after he was shot.
