Kellyanne Conway downplays claim that she’s a top leaker: ‘I really keep my counsel’

Kellyanne Conway on Monday downplayed claims from the author of a new book that she is a top White House leaker.

“Leakers get great press, and one day … I will have my say,” Conway said on Fox News. “I really keep my counsel while I’m here because I work in the White House, I’m a government employee, and I’m blessed and privileged to be here.”

Conway also noted that President Trump has identified other former officials as leakers, and said there are fewer leaks now that these officials, who she didn’t name, are gone.

“[Trump] knows and he has said publicly and privately who the leakers and the liars are and have been,” she said. “Very happy that there’s a lot less leaking in the White House now.”

When asked if there are still some White House leaks, Conway said, “Perhaps.”

Author Ronald Kessler, who wrote The Trump White House: Changing the Rules of the Game, said Sunday that Conway is the “number one leaker” of information from the Trump administration.

Conway also rejected Kessler’s assertion that she is at odds with Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.

“No, I have a great working relationship and a great relationship with Jared and Ivanka,” she said. “I had dinner recently with them at their house.”
