The Bush campaign is out with a new ad attacking senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz for their records on ISIS and Syria.
The ad features hawkish rhetoric from both Senators out on the campaign trail, then pivots back to quotes by both espousing a far more cautious approach.
It’s an interesting tactic and a smart play by Bush since he was under no obligation to weigh in on the subject, having not been in elected office in many years. Rubio, but more so Cruz, have been under attack for flipping positions on major issues. The Jeb! ad is effective in that it suggests the candidates who bill themselves as “consitent conservatives” might not be so consistent.
But with Jeb lagging in the polls, the offensive is probably too little, too late.
