A debate for the United Kingdom’s Tory leadership was interrupted on Tuesday due to a medical incident on set.
Candidates Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak were discussing the war in Ukraine when a loud crash was heard. The incident that caused the crash occurred off camera, according to the Telegraph.
“There’s been a medical issue, it’s not a security issue, and the candidates are OK,” a spokesman for News UK said. “If we can get back on air, we will.”

BRITISH SOCCER CRACKING DOWN ON UNRULY FANS
The cause of the commotion was the collapse of the debate’s host, Kate McCann, who fainted approximately half an hour into the debate. McCann is “fine,” but the rest of the debate was canceled, according to a statement by the network, TalkTV. No cause for McCann’s collapse has been given.
“Kate McCann fainted on air tonight and although she is fine, the medical advice was that we shouldn’t continue with the debate. We apologise to our viewers and listeners,” the network said.
McCann’s collapse came shortly after her slotted co-host Harry Cole tested positive for COVID-19.
Sunak said he was looking forward to continuing the debate in the future, with McCann once again hosting.
“Good news that you’re already recovering, @KateEMcCann,” Sunak tweeted. “It was a great debate and I look forward to getting grilled by you again shortly!”
