Malia Obama stalker detained: report

The U.S. Secret Service detained a New York man last week for stalking and harassing Malia Obama.

Jair Nilton Cardoso, 30, went into the building where the former first daughter interns and held a sign up to the window as he begged her to marry him, the NY Daily News reported.

Cardoso reportedly appeared two days later and followed Obama out of another building in Lower Manhattan. Secret Service agents recognized him from past failed attempts to enter the White House. He was stopped and told to leave former President Obama’s daughter alone.

Agents paid a visit to Cardoso’s home the following day and took him to a Brooklyn hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, according to the report.

On Tuesday, Secret Service went to the New York’s First Precinct station house to report Cardoso.

Malia is former President Obama’s eldest daughter and has reportedly been living in New York as she interns in Tribeca for film producer Harvey Weinstein.
