ATHENS, Greece (AP) — An Athens court has convicted two Greek men to life imprisonment for stabbing a Pakistani immigrant worker to death last year, during a spike in racist attacks in the recession-ravaged country.
The court on Tuesday ruled Christos Stergiopoulos, 30, and Dionyssis Liakopoulos, 26, intended to kill 27-year-old Shehzad Luqman when they stabbed him as he cycled to work in Athens.
