Rep. Maxine Waters tested positive for COVID-19 with no symptoms, she announced on Twitter on Wednesday.
Waters, who is vaccinated against COVID-19 and has received two booster shots, is currently isolating and following all protocols “as recommended by the Office of the Attending Physician and CDC guidance,” the representative said in a statement.
“Thankfully, I am feeling fine and recommend everyone to get vaccinated if you have not done so already,” Waters’s statement read.

The California representative is the most recent politician to test positive for COVID-19, with Vice President Kamala Harris and Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden both announcing on Tuesday that they had contracted the coronavirus.
President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, announced Wednesday he would not be attending the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner due to COVID-19 concerns, though Biden himself will continue to attend the event. Fauci earlier said on Wednesday that the United States is “out of the pandemic phase.”

Waters’s communications director has not yet responded to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
