Former President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush released a smiling photo sending thanks for the well-wishes after their respective health episodes.

“President and Mrs @GeorgeHWBush thank their fellow Americans and friends from around the world for their prayers and good wishes,” Bush spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted.
The former president has been hospitalized since last week after a case of pneumonia and spent several days in the intensive care unit. He was set to be discharged from the ICU Monday but remains in the hospital. Barbara Bush was briefly hospitalized herself after being diagnosed with bronchitis.
Bush sent President Trump his apologies for missing his inauguration last week, telling the new president in a letter, “My doctor says if I sit outside in January, it likely will put me 6 feet under.”
