A high school student at Loyola Blakefield was killed Friday after he lost control of his BMW in Phoenix and struck another vehicle.
Dennis Woolford, 17, of Phoenix, was traveling southbound in the 13500 block of Jarrettsville Pike in Baltimore County when his car crossed a double-yellow line around 7 a.m. and struck a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old girl, Gabrielle Payne, a student at Harford Lutheran School.
She was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma with non life-threatening injuries. Woolford was killed in the crash, said Baltimore County police spokesman Bill Toohey.
“The cause is under investigation, but the road was slick from the morning rain,” Toohey said.
