Trump touts appointment of Kavanaugh and Gorsuch at March for Life

President Trump addressed the March for Life on Friday, touting his appointment of judges who interpret the Constitution “as written.”

“To uphold our founding documents, we have confirmed 187 federal judges who apply the Constitution as written, including two phenomenal Supreme Court justices: Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh,” Trump said.

Trump’s speech, which lasted roughly 15 minutes, highlighted several ways in which he has fought to move the anti-abortion movement forward.

“Unborn children have never had a stronger defender in the White House. And as the Bible tells us, each person is wonderfully made,” he told the crowd.

Trump is the first president in history to attend the event, which has been drawing thousands to Washington since 1974.

Earlier this week, he declared the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade “National Sanctity of Human Life Day.”

“Although each journey is different, no life is without worth or is inconsequential; the rights of all people must be defended. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our nation proudly and strongly reaffirms our commitment to protect the precious gift of life at every stage, from conception to natural death,” the White House proclamation read.
