THE DAILY OUTRAGE: This isn’t what is meant by ‘an apple a day’

Who: Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Kan.

What: Tiahrt applied for and received a $250,000 grant from the federal Department of Education to purchase about 450 iPod Touches.

Why it’s an outrage: The iPod Touch is supposed to “allow students to download information.” But there’s another way for these students to download information, called “reading.”

Where to vent: Contact Tiahrt’s Washington office at 202-225-6216.
