Trump: ‘No rest for the weary’ as officials prepare for Hurricane Irma in Florida

President Trump said Wednesday his federal officials are in Florida preparing for Hurricane Irma, which is expected to make landfall this weekend.

“Hurricane looks like largest ever recorded in the Atlantic!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. “Watching Hurricane closely. My team, which has done, and is doing, such a good job in Texas, is already in Florida. No rest for the weary!”

Trump issued a state of emergency declaration in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands on Tuesday ahead of the Category 5 storm’s landfall.

Trump also touted his trip to North Dakota Wednesday.

“Will be going to North Dakota today to discuss tax reform and tax cuts. We are the highest taxed nation in the world — that will change,” Trump tweeted.
