Police say a Rockville convenience store robbery was thwarted after officers apprehended a teenager carrying a kitchen knife and a paper on how to commit the crime.
The 17-year-old boy from Gaithersburg was apprehended after a manager at the 7-Eleven located at 9900 Key West Ave. called police when someone wearing identity-concealing clothing entered the store and acted suspiciously on April 18, police said Thursday.
Officers who arrived found the teen armed with a kitchen knife and carrying a note that detailed how to commit a robbery, police said. He was charged with attempted armed carjacking, concealing a dangerous weapon and armed robbery.
