Curry emotional as she announces ‘Today’ exit

All the rumors can cease — Ann Curry is officially leaving the “Today” show. An emotional Curry annouced her depature on Thursday’s show, which was her last time anchoring the morning show. “For all of you who saw me as a groundbreaker, I’m sorry I couldn’t carry the ball over the finish line but, man, I did try,” she said. Curry isn’t leaving the network; she has been given a position withing the NBC News team. Savannah Guthrie is expected to join Matt Lauer as co-anchor of the “Today” show.
