Kellyanne Conway: ‘I can’t be bothered’ that Trump campaign’s data firm contacted WikiLeaks

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Friday she “can’t be bothered” that a data firm hired by the Trump campaign offered to help WikiLeaks sift through Hillary Clinton’s emails.

It was widely reported this week that Cambridge Analytica’s chief executive contacted WikiLeaks last summer to partner on the Clinton emails. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange tweeted that the offer was rejected.

“I know nothing about that because I was the campaign manager, and I can’t be bothered with any of that,” Conway said on CNN.

Pressed on the fact that as campaign manager “surely you were interested in the data collection,” Conway side-stepped.

“The campaign was not doing that…I’ve already told you it’s completely unnecessary because we beat her on the issues,” she said. “We beat Hillary Clinton fairly and squarely. Russia did not tell her not to go to Wisconsin and Michigan — she came up with that all by herself.”
